Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare launches online testimonials on the pandemic
Windsor, Ont. –
A regional health care provider has launched a website its executives hope will become a legacy project, acknowledging the pandemic’s place in history and how some frontline workers have responded.
âWe’ve been thinking a lot about how to collectively build on a time in our shared organizational history where we have come together when at times fragmented, tired or broken,â said Janice Kaffer, President and CEO of the ‘Hotel Dieu Grace Heathcare.
The Stories of Grit & Grace campaign shared the experience of 1,100 HDGH members through the stories of approximately 25 members.
âOur people, our more than 1,100 loving and compassionate healthcare professionals have been in hell and back and forth. It was not easy, âKaffer added.
Doctors, nurses, social workers, leaders and board members tell stories of triumph, hardship and courage in texts and videos.
âI didn’t know why I was supposed to be a nurse until I already had one, and it even took a pandemic to show it to me,â said Emmelie Sloan, RN at HDGH, who went from graduation to working in the health care field during COVID all in just a few months.
Grit and Grace’s stories can be found at www.StoriesofGritandGrace.org, where every week new faces will be featured via the hospital’s Instagram account in connection with their emotional and highly personal experiences.
HDGH encourages everyone, even members of the community, to tell their story using the hashtag #HDGHStoriesofGritandGrace.
