Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare revises vaccination policy for clients, lifting certain visit restrictions
Windsor, Ont. –
Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare (HDGH) is revising its vaccination policy to require all designated care partners and visitors to prove that they are fully vaccinated.
HDGH has initiated a vaccine or asymptomatic testing policy that applies to designated care partners (DCPs) and visitors allowing either a negative test or proof of vaccination. However, starting next month, all DCPs and guests will be required to provide proof of vaccination.
As of Monday, November 22, all DCPs and visitors entering any HDGH location must provide proof of being fully vaccinated (showing that 14 days have passed since their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine) as well. a valid photo health card.
This means that proof of a negative PCR test result that was previously used by DCPs and unvaccinated guests will no longer be accepted, says HDGH, exceptions to the policy will be made on a case-by-case basis.
âAs the health care provider you know and trust in Windsor-Essex, it is our responsibility to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, physicians and those entering campus at the University of Montreal. ‘HDGH,’ says Janice Kaffer, President and CEO, HDGH. âOur staff and doctors have worked incredibly hard during this pandemic and with vaccines, masking, testing and physical distancing we can fight this virus, but each of us has to do our part.â
Regardless of vaccination status, anyone entering HDGH will need to wear hospital-provided PPE. No patient or client will be refused entry or care because of their immunization status, according to the hospital.
HDGH will also lift its previous restrictions limiting the number of guests a patient could have at one time. As of November 22, patients will not be limited on the number of guests visiting at any one time.
Visiting hours will remain in place:
- Complex medical care and inpatient rehabilitation: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Palliative care: no time restriction
- Toldo Neurobehavioural Institute – inpatient mental health: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday to Friday with additional time from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
